While owning your Cayman Islands holiday, make sure you attend a show with the ‘Barefoot Man’. George Nowak (the Barefoot Man), was created in Germany (or Austria, according to the source) but has become the maximum amount of a part of the Cayman Islands as many locals. He has lived and played there since 1971 after a period of island hopping which included Hawaii and the Bahamas.
His songs are mostly a risqué parody set to calypso, reggae, country or pop music. For those who have seen the film ‘The Firm’, then you would have heard Barefoot’s music. He wrote the song ‘Money, Money, Money’ and is singing from the background while Location de condo plage sept mile was dancing.
Barefoot not just writes and performs their own songs, also, he owns the record company that records and sells his CDs (present in most stores on Grand Cayman). They have also branched to The Bahamas, where one among his albums is in the most notable Ten for four years.
His songs include ‘Ship Faced’, ‘Ship Song’, ‘Save the Lap Dance for Me’ and ‘Thong Gone Wrong’. He also sings about Cayman current affairs and wrote ‘The Gay Cruise Liner Song’ after the visit from a Gay Cruise. One reviewer stated that the Barefoot Man won a Grammy Award for ‘Gone Coconutz’, that has been written after 85dexrpky devastating Hurricane Ivan, although I have been incapable of find this album or artist placed in the Grammy Archives.
No Cayman Islands holiday is done without catching a show by The Barefoot Man. He can be obtained at The Reef Hotel every Tuesday and Thursday night. The Reef is definitely the only 100% beach hotel on Grand Cayman.
John has completed the online training course given by the Cayman Islands Department of Tourism, which included a vacation to Grand Cayman and Little Cayman to check out various hotels, sample some of the restaurants and to participate in a selection of sightseeing attractions.
